Builder shoots at rival’s manager nagpur

A builder fired two shots at the manager of his former partner on Thursday as a dispute over management of a Nagpur Improvement Trust-owned community hall turned ugly. The manager, however, escaped unhurt as bullets did not find their mark.
Vilas Harde, an engineering graduate and former partner of noted builder Vijay Dangre, submitted himself at the Nandanvan police station on Thursday evening after he had allegedly shot at his erstwhile partner’s manager Chandrashekar Tumsare. Tumsare was saved in spite of being shot at from close range as he ducked in time. Harde used his licensed .32 revolver to shoot at Tumsare in Rajiv Gandhi Cultural hall near water tank at New Nandanvan locality at 4 pm. Several Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) officials were also present when the incident took place.
It is learnt that relations between Harde and Dangre had soured following dispute over internal administration and business accounts. This led to ending of their partnership.
“Harde was my 25% partner for over ten years but we fell apart two years ago after the income tax raid on our business,” said Dangre. “The Rajiv Gandhi hall was in my possession since 2006 as per NIT’s build-operate-transfer (BOT) policy. The contract was up for renewal through a tender. He (Harde) too had submitted the tender for it but I emerged the highest bidder,” said Dangre. He claimed that Harde had tried to indulge in foul play even while managing the hall during their partnership. “I had also complained to NIT about his malpractices,” he said.
Dangre was in Mumbai when the incident took place and rushed back to city in the night.
