MBA, MMS admissions begin from July 27

The admissions for Master of Business administration (MBA) will restart from Tuesday 27 after a week. The admissions were halted midway due to AICTE's decision to withhold the approvals it had granted to new institutions.

Ironically, many seats are likely to remain vacant even as AICTE sanctioned many new management institutes for all universities, including Nagpur. The number of aspirants appearing for this year's examination has been drastically reduced by as much as 7,000 as compared to last year. Last year, nearly 19,000 students appeared for the MAH-MBA/MMS-CET examination from six districts under Nagpur University. But this year, the students' numbers have fallen to just 11,600. Presently, there are 17,000 seats in about 298 colleges in the state which will touch 20,000 after new colleges were sanctioned by the AICTE.

The NU has as many as 57 colleges offering management courses with over 3,500 seats, just after Pune and Mumbai universities. Shockingly, large number of seats remained vacant in at least 12 institutes last year.
