CAREER COURSE :- Dance Courses

Dance is an art form, which involves the use of well-coordinated body movements for expressions as well as performance. In India this performing art form originated in temples, princely courts and villages thousands of years ago, leading to evolution of various kinds of dances largely influenced by the culture of a particular region. While some dance forms have a religious significance, others reflect simply the ecstasy of the human mind. In today's context in which it is a perennial source of entertainment involving physical movements, subtle facial expressions and various emotions, Indian dance courses are of great interest to the world.

Traditional Indian dance form was adapted from the fundamental doctrines of Natyashastra, written by Bharatamuni. Apart from the folk forms, Bharatantyam of Tamil Nadu, Kuchipudi of Andhra Pradesh, Kathakali of Kerala, Odissi of Orissa and Manipuri of Manipur are some of the popular dance forms of India. Besides the aforesaid, several modern dance forms have evolved in the country. Most of the dance schools here believe in the traditional "Teacher - Disciple" methodology in which the students learn the dance courses and imbibe the spiritual fervor of it, while staying with the teacher in his school known as the "Gurukul".


Qualifications for Dancing Courses:
For obtaining a Bachelors degree or a certificate in dancing, the pre-requisite is that one must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or 10+2 level. For acquiring a post-graduate degree, one should have a Bachelors degree in dancing. A good dancer should have a perfect orchestration of the mind, body and soul. S/he should also be versatile and diligent.

Dance Courses:
You can choose from certificate course, 3 years Bachelors Degree Course, 3 years Post Graduation Course or 3 years Diploma Course in Dancing. Since dance courses are available in several dance forms, you can enroll in the one that suits your area of interest.
