nagpur :- Neighbour caught for Rs 4L heist

A 19-year-old boy has been nabbed for stealing Rs 4 lakh from a neighbouring house in Hansapuri. Rohit Barmaiyya is said to committed the crime to earn easy bucks and fund his addictions like gambling and foreign liquor. Barmaiyya, the mastermind in the robbery, was accompanied by two cousins, Ajay and Raj Gaur, who have also been arrested. Acting on a tip off from sources and old fashioned crime scene investigation, the Tehsil cops cracked the case within three days of the robbery.

The robbery had come to light when the victim, Ajay Thakre returned to his Hansapuri home from a religious tour on August 22. The miscreants had taken cash Rs 26,000 and 36 tola gold, totally worth Rs 4 lakh. The miscreants had allegedly spent all the cash, but the cops were able to recover valuables worth Rs 3 lakh from them. Talking to TOI, senior inspector of Tehsil police station SP Nandanwar said that while investigating the him into confidence and asked him to help us. Later, while gambling, our decoy heard something about Barmaiyya and informed us.

On sustained questioning, Barmaiyya revealed that he had kept a watch on the house and planned the robbery," said Nandanwar. Police said none of the three miscreants have any past criminal records.
