nagpur :- Kamal Nath approves funds to complete Ngp-Amravati NH-6

This could bring smiles on the faces of people travelling regularly between Nagpur and Amravati. Passengers are in for a huge relief from bumpy rides very soon, since the Central government has okayed a whooping amount of funds for the development of Nagpur-Kondhali and Amravati-Talegoan roads.

MLA Rajendra Shekhavat announced in a press conference on Monday that he recently met Union minister of road transport and highways Kamal Nath and discussed the pathetic condition of the Amravati-Nagpur highway NH-6. Shekhavat highlighted the problems faced by passengers while travelling on the road.

He informed Nath that the four laning of Kondhali-Nagpur stretch has been started but it needs to be speeded up. The slow work on the flyover at Kondhali has been blamed on some problems of land acquisition, but the Nagpur collector has now assured that the flyover would be completed very soon.

Shekhavat said that Kamal Nath has approved Rs 537 crore for the development and widening of Amravati- Talegoan road stretch of 67.7km road. The department has also okayed Rs 168 crore for fast completion of the Nagpur-Kondhali road stretch of 40km. He said that now that the department has okayed the funds, the Amravati-Nagpur NH-6 will develop faster and help bring new business ventures to the SEZ at Nadgaonpeth MIDC.

Shekhavat also said that he recently met Chhagan Bhujbal for development of Amravati-Badnera road. The Centre has okayed a proposal for the improvement of the Amravati-Badnera road and it will be developed soon. He added that the chief minister has assured to approve Rs 10 crore as soon as the City Development Plan is submitted to the government.
