Nagpur schoolboy hits 461 not out

Ali Zoren Khan, 15, has achieved something which his idol Sachin Tendulkar could never achieve as a schoolboy. Ali scored a brilliant unconquered 461 runs which is the highest score by an Indian schoolboy, surpassing the 439 runs hit by Mumbai`s Sarfaraz Khan in a Harris Shield tie in November 2009.

Ali achieved the feat playing for Nagpur Cricket Academy against Reshimbag Cricket Club in an inter-academy tournament conducted by the Vidarbha Cricket Association.

"My coach told me about Sarfaraz`s record (after the Day 1) and I was determined to cross it," the teenager told a newspaper.

Though his score is the highest by a schoolboy in India, it’s not clear his effort is the highest in the world in school cricket.

During his recording-breaking innings Ali faced 308 balls with 64 hits to the fence and 12 over it.

Thanks to Ali Zoren`s effort, Nagpur Cricket Academy, resuming at 805 for 4, scored 1,025 for the loss of 5 wickets. Apart from Ali Zoren, three other batsmen too slammed tons.
