Man stabbed 10 times, drives 15km to home

This bold act of a middle-aged man has surprised doctors as well as cops. Thirty-eight-year-old Dilip Yadav, who was stabbed at least ten times on his chest, managed to escape from his assailants' clutches and drive almost 15km to his residence on Sunday night.

Yadav, bleeding profusely, reached home. He took a look at himself in the mirror and fell unconscious. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital at Ravi Nagar where he is recuperating. Doctors said that a delay of even a few more minutes would have cost him his life.

On Sunday night, Yadav who owns a fertilizer business, was invited by his friends Prakash Ghormade (45) and Avinash Mendhe (40) for dinner at Mominpura. Yadav told cops that after dinner, his 'friends' suddenly pounced on him outside the eatery and started hitting him with rods. Later, a few more youths joined the duo and stabbed him repeatedly all over the body. The miscreants also took away Yadav's cash, mobile phone and gold ring.

Cops said Yadav managed to escape from his assailants' clutches and locked himself in his car. He drove at breakneck speed to his residence," said a cop from Tehsil police station. However, the reason behind the attack was not immediately ascertained.

Yadav's father Rajendrasingh, however, said that a few years back. His son had a property dispute with his friends. Tehsil police have registered a case of attempt to murder against Ghormade and Mendhe. No arrests have been made so far.
