MKCL offers online practice exams for SSC students

Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MKCL) has launched a unique initiative by offering online practice tests for state board students. The state government-promoted organisation is offering this facility absolutely free of cost for the benefit of lakhs of students with access to Internet. Even students who are outside the state or country can appear for this test from the comforts of their home or from any Internet café or from MISCIT centres. The actual SSC exams are slated to start from March 1.

"So far, over 10,000 students in Nagpur region have taken benefit of the new facility," MKCL Nagpur centre coordinator Shashikant Deshpande told TOI, adding that the objective was to test students' knowledge about subjects of science (both first and second papers), mathematics and history.

He however pointed out that the test was based on objective type questions and answers are provided instantly. "After the launch, the response has been tremendous. Surprisingly, more students availed of this facility from places like Katol and Kalmeshwar. These tests would immensely help them to clear their concepts," he asserted.

MKCL had conducted a massive awareness exercise all over the state to inform students about this facility. "In Nagpur division, we had been to various schools recently to encourage students not end their life due to exam or other pressure. We also informed them about this new facility, and they showed good response. This is a pilot project but we are sure that it will be a big success," Deshpande said.

Avinash Bagade, who runs a MSCIT centre at Katol, said they received an enthusiastic response in their area. "Some 142 students have already appeared for these practice tests and many more are lined up in days to come. Since we've limited facility of 20 terminals, we've slotted them at various times. The students are usually happy to be able to test their knowledge themselves," he said.
