Make Nagpur as exam centre for nationalised bank exams

The demand for making Nagpur as one of the examination centres for the ongoing recruitment in nationalised banks for 80,000 posts in Maharashtra was made in the Legislative Assembly on Friday. BJP member Sudhir Mungantiwar who hails from Vidarbha said Nagpur is the second capital of Maharashtra and
the examination centres are only in Mumbai and Pune.

"It is inconvenient for a candidate from Gadchiroli to spend more than Rs 2000 to come to Mumbai or Pune to write the exams," he said.

Leader of opposition Eknath Khadse raised the issue of a mysterious illness that is inflicting children in Jalgaon district.

He said only children between the age of nine and 15 are falling ill once they go to school and are alright if they are at home.

"Local health authorities have conducted tests on the children and the reports say that they are normal."

"But, the problem exists and there is tremendous panic among the parents and children. The government should conduct a thorough inquiry into this and announce a holiday for schools in the district," he said.

Speaker Dilip Walse-Patil asked the government to consider the request.

Girish Bapat (BJP) said 300 persons have been detected with swine flu like symptoms in Pune city and urged the government to take steps to ensure that the epidemic does not spread again.

Bala Nandgaonkar (MNS) and Ravindra Waikar (Shiv Sena) highlighted Malaria epidemic in Mumbai and demanded that the adequate steps be taken to prevent further rise.
