nagpur :- Change in codes for admission

The directorate of technical education (DTE) has issued a notification regarding the change in institution codes for admission to first year of engineering degree courses. The codes for as many as 36 colleges all around Maharashtra have been changed.

During admission, the students are advised to select the desired course name and then short list institutes offering the selected course after taking into note the new institute code. The new institute code list can be downloaded from www.dte.org.in. From Nagpur, the codes of five colleges were changed, as per a communiqué from the DTE. The institute codes printed in institute information brochure of engineering/technology for the year 2010-11 has mentioned as "Inst Code" were changed with this notification.

The first round for admission under centralised admission process (CAP) is already over while the submission of option forms for second CAP round will start from August 11 and provisional allotment will be displayed on August 17. The fourth round of CAP will be held through counselling only for the Maharashtra candidates on September 13 at Government College of Engineering in Aurangabad. Though the last date of admission is September 25, the academic year for engineering will however start a bit earlier from August 23.

The students will get 30 options for second round (First 15 will be mandatory) and 45 for third round (Any one of 45 is mandatory). Students coming under six districts of Nagpur division can submit the option forms either from the website or from 12 ARCs in the region.

This time there is mad rush for the engineering admissions with as many as 2,49,096 students vying for over one lakh engineering seats exam from Maharashtra. For students seeking admission in Nagpur University colleges they've 58 options after addition of eight new engineering institutes on July 24 which was first reported by TOI.
