Agitated Muslims offer Namaz

In a deviation from routine, a group of Muslims offered Namaz just outside Kotwali police station on Monday. The reason: They were so
entangled in a case that they got little time to go to dargah to offer the prayer on Eid.

It so happened that Abdul Karim, who owns a utensils shop in Mahal, lodged a police complaint on Monday morning that his relatives, who have another shop adjacent to his, have take possession of his shop forcibly. Karim claimed he suffered a loss of Rs 7.80 lakh because of this. His relatives, however, have denied the allegations.

Karim approached the police demanding to register an offence of burglary against his rival group comprising four brothers. The cops, trying to uncover the facts, prolonged the process. Senior officers had to intervene in the matter after they were apprised of the situation. All through Monday police remained undecided over the issue which added to the woes of both the parties.

"I want my stolen properties and cash back but police is not helping me," said Karim adding that he has been held up at the police station since morning. Senior inspector RA Tayade, in-charge of Kotwali police station, said that the investigation is on. "We are yet to decide on the case," he said.
