Residents of Dhantoli and Ramdaspeth had to go without power for about an hour when MSEDCL transformers developed technical snags soon after
it started raining. Even after power supply was restored, the voltage was low and continued to fluctuate making it unsafe to operate electrical appliances.
Residents complained that low voltage and fluctuations had become too frequent and they feared damage to electrical equipment.
Aneesh Walde, a resident of Ramdaspeth said there were load-sheddings when it did not rain and when it rained there was a power failure. "It seems we will never get respite no matter what the whether is."
Meanwhile, TOI office received telephone calls from Sadar and some other localities regarding power failure soon after it started raining.
