The Rashtra Sant Tukadoji Maharaj University main library is located in Ramdaspeth, which is known as Dr. V.B.alias Bhausaheb Kolte Library, Rashtra Sant Tukadoji Maharaj University Nagpur. It also has a separate Campus Library, which caters to the needs of the students, faculty and research fellows in the University Campus. In addition, several departments are having their own departmental libraries. Thus, the overall needs of the research students and faculty are more or less met in terms of reference books. However, the number of journals subscribed is small in number due to their exorbitant price. In the year 2003-2004, the University Library subscribed to 281 Indian Journals while the number of Foreign Journals subscribed was only 91 due to high price and non availability of funds. However, Nagpur University, being an active participant of prestigious UGC-Info Net project, has very recently begun providing the various e Resources including a number of e_Journals to the encompassing various subjects.

The libraries provide the following facilities to the students:

·         Reprographic facilities

·         Computers

·         Audio & video Cassettes

·         Internet

·         Any other (specify): OPAC, Online Databases, Offline CDROM Databases, Xerox, Fax, e-mail, INFLIBNET, Braille Reader/ Printer services to the visually impaired, computerized accession register of manuscript data base using multilingual facility.

The University Library started automation in 1995-96. the housekeeping activities computerized are :

(a) Acquisition of Books & other documents;

(b) Cataloguing;

(c) Journals Management including Bound Volumes;

(d) Circulation of Documents;

(e) Data Conversion. The computerized services are as under :

(a) OPAC; (On line Public Access Catalogue);

(b) Current Awareness Services;

(c) Online Databases;

(d) Internet/ E-mail.

E-Resurces

The V-SAT is existing in the Physics Department. Hence, all V-SAT services under the control of coordinator V-SAT. Those research scholars are interested to know that how many e-resources ( journals ) are freely access through V-SAT, they may obtain the information under website : http:// www.inflibnet.ac.in
