RTMNU to have Urdu department

The state government has finally ruled that the RTM Nagpur University can have a department dedicated to the Urdu language.

The decision was reportedly taken keeping in mind the apparent popularity of the language in Vidarbha region.

Although the ruling came recently, the demand had initially been put forward in 2004. Further details regarding the structure, staffing and the infrastructure of the department are currently being chalked out, it is reported.
