Congress, NCP, Bharip Bahujan Republican and RPI (K) leaders led by former Union Minister and local Congress MP Vilas Muttemwar today staged dharna at Variety square in busy
commercial market of Sitabuldi.
A number of speakers criticised chief minister Ashok Chavan for 'misleading the Central leadership' on the issue of separate Vidarbha.
In another protest, city BJP staged sit-in agitation in old city area. Former MP Banwarilal Purohit, all the three BJP MLAs, Davendra Phdanvis, Vikas Kumbhare, Krishna Khopde, city mayor Archana Dehankar were among those present.
Police said they have detained 32 persons in connection with the agitation.
