About Department
Post Graduate Teaching Department of Biochemistry is one of the oldest departments in the University. It is situated in Laxminarayan Institute of Technology Campus and is surrounded by lush green ambience. Department is housed in 2231.11sq.m area with infrastructure for research in all aspects of Biochemistry that include immuno-modulation, hepato-production, plant and microbial enzymes, their inhibitors and modulators, anti-cancer and antimicrobial activities of Indian herbs and medicinal plants, plant and plant cell cultures and bioenhancers. Department has a very good library having approximately 2500 books and journals. It has recognized and well-equipped animal house to supply rats, rabbits, mice and guinea pigs. It runs a Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory, where special investigations are carried out at subsided rates. The Department has to its credit number of completed and ongoing projects sanctioned by ICAR, DOE, DBT, UGC, AICTE and Matthias Rath Inc., R&D, USA.
