An affidavit filed by the registrar (acting) AD Chaudhari said that the university had sent its roster to the government for checking and it will be received in a month. After getting clearance, the process of filling up of the vacant posts will be completed in two months. The affidavit further stated that out of 62 posts, 31 have already been filled up.
The university's reply came while hearing a plea filed by a former student for filling up the vacancies in the once prestigious LIT which is severely affecting its operations. During last hearing, a division bench comprising justices Sharad Bobde and Arun Chaudhari had asked the university registrar to give an undertaking as to when the posts would be filled up. Shrikant Khandalkar who was counsel for the petitioner came out with new information that 70 posts of non-teaching staff in the institution are also vacant.
