nagpur :-Constable booked for raping minor

A constable has been booked for allegedly raping a minor who was his neighbour in the rural police headquarters on Saturday. Accused Pramod Aahake, 35, is married and has kids. The victim, a student of Class X, too is a daughter of a constable attached to rural police headquarters.

Aahake is attached to rural police as a driver to police station officer of Katol police. He threatened Namrata (name changed) before forcing himself upon her. In her statement before cops, Namrata claimed to have been raped by Aahake on two previous occasions too.

Police said that Namrata was first raped on October 23 morning. Namrata had left her home for tuition at 6.30 am when Aahake intercepted her on the way. Aahake`s family members had gone to their native place when the incident took place.

Threatening to reveal her amorous relationship with other youths, Aahake raped her for the second time at his official residence.

The latest incident took place on Friday. Aahake once again intercepted Namrata on her way back home and took her to the terrace of their quarters where he raped her. This time, Namrata`s mother got wind of the situation and reached the terrace where she raised an alarm, alerting neighbours.

Aahake has been arrested.
