Superintendent of police (in-charge) SK Nikam said the passenger had complained that the coach attendant had set the air-conditioning at such a low temperature that all the people in the coach slipped into a deep slumber in their warm blankets.
"This apparently helped thieves and bag-lifters to decamp with valuables when the passengers were fast asleep in the chilled compartment. We thought that such allegations needed to be probed, and hence we booked the attendant," said Nikam.
