Merrymaking ruled the roost at the farewell party organised by the students of Electrical and Computer Science departments of a city college Alisha and Shilpa
recently.
The seniors, who are all set to face the 'big bad commercial world', left their juniors surprised when they finally took to the dance floor with gay abundance, after doing a lot of nakhras initially. Of course, popular Bollywood tracks added to their energy and zest.
Saree ki grace!
For many, wearing a saree was the USP of the evening. When we caught up with final year Electrical student Snehal Upare, she said, "I have worn a saree for the second time in my life today. But, many of my friends have worn it for the first time. Hum log saree mein bahut bade lag rahe hain. But it’s fun!” When asked about the one thing that really enamoured her at the party, she said, “The dance performance by the juniors was quite cool. I loved every moment of that!”
Ah, the rain dance
When we spoke to third year Computer Science student Chetna Dixit, we learnt how the juniors made the party memorable for their seniors. "We presented colourful calendars to our seniors in which their birth dates were prominently marked and they flipped for them." She breezily added, "The party turned into a rocking one because of the sudden rains that lashed the venue for a while. We danced a lot in the rain where the DJ played some rocking music."
