The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) will commence the online admission, a maiden venture, process to diploma courses in the state
with the sale of information brochure and activity kits from Friday.
The brochure will be available at various designated application receipt centres (ARCs) at the cost of Rs 400 for general category and Rs 300 for reserved category students. In Nagpur, the forms will be available at Government Polytechnic at Sadar and newly designated ARC at Vasantdada Polytechnic, Nandanwan.
As per DTE officials, the purchase of information brochure is must as it will have an application ID and password necessary for filling up online application form through its website.
As many as 89 new polytechnics, including 17 in Nagpur region, had received permission to start their operations from this academic year with many of them conducting online admissions, DTE officials added.
There will be district level -70% and state level - 30% quotas for the students. Students clearing SSC examination with 50% marks are eligible to seek admission to the diploma course at any polytechnic. The students can choose from a long list of 77 branches.
