Court summons Delhi University Registrar, CBSE Secretary in marks case

The Delhi High Court today summoned the Delhi University Registrar and the Secretary of CBSE after they failed to stipulate the time period for revaluation of marks applied for by class-XII students before getting admission in various colleges.
A Division bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Sanjiv Khanna directed the DU Registrar and Secretary, CBSE, to appear before it on May 9 and explain the reasons for delay in taking a decision on the issue.
The court's direction came after the University counsel Maninder Acharya informed the court that the CBSE Secretary failed to turn up for a meeting recently.
Earlier, the Bench had directed the Central Board of Secondary Eduucation(CBSE) to verify the marks in a time-bound manner so that meritorious students would get admission in the colleges under the Delhi University.
The court had also directed the University to convene a meeting with the Secretary to sort out the problem.
