Members of PAU Students Association (PAUSA) blocked PAU gate number 2 on Wednesday, staging a dharna and announcing boycott of the PAU kisan mela slated to start on Thursday.
They have been expressing their resentment against the university authorities as well as the state government for not providing students any vacancies.
PAU would be organizing a two-day PAU kisan mela on March 17 and 18 to educate farmers about the latest agriculture techniques for a better standard of living.
Giving details, Ravinder Singh Randhawa said they had blocked the entrance to the university in order to warn the varsity authorities and farmers about boycott of the mela. He said the mela would be boycotted by PAU students and students assigned duties therein would not participate in the event.
They would instead work together with student representatives to garner masses' support to their protest against government's indifferent attitude.
