Gondia district witnessed six suicides in a single day. The local cops are all confused over these deaths.
Resident of village Gortha Chagan Brahmankar (30) jumped before a running train on Kidangipar-Jawari route late on March 25 night. His body was found on the railway track on March 26 morning. A family dispute apparently pushed him to take the extreme step. On the same day, another suicide was reported when a youth's body was found on the Gondia-Nagpur railway route near village Dhakni. The youth's body was handed over to Gangazari police after a goods train driver noticed it on the railway track. Another 21-year-old youth Shriram Puram, resident of village Pangadi, hanged himself to death. The cause behind the suicide is not known.
A 45-year-old cultivator Harichand Parteti, resident of village Bonde, consumed poison to commit suicide on March 26. He was rushed to Nawegaon Bandh rural hospital but did not survive. In another incident, a mentally disturbed Asha Parshuramkar (40) from village Khadipar in Goregaon tehsil jumped to death in a well. Alcoholic Ramesh Chatare (35), a resident of Deori, died of over consumption of liquor on the same day.
