Meshram appointed North Maharashtra University VC

The Governor of Maharashtra and the Chancellor of universities in the state K Sankaranarayanan today appointed Dr Sudhir Umaji Meshram as the new Vice Chancellor of the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon. Meshram is Professor and Head, Post Graduate Department of Microbiology, Rashtra Sant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. The appointment will be for a period of five years and shall come into effect from the date Dr Meshram will assume charge of the office of the Vice Chancellor, a release said. Meshram has 26 years of teaching experience at post-graduate level and administrative experience of 17 years.He has published 120 research papers in national and international journals. He succeeds Dr K B Patil whose term as the Vice Chancellor of the North Maharashtra University ended on August 21. The Governor had appointed a Search Committee under Justice Mukul Mudgal, Retired Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to recommend him a panel of names for the post.
