BJP national president Nitin Gadkari has summoned Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, his predecessor B S Yeddyurappa and state BJP president K S Eshwarappa to Nagpur to discuss the affairs of the state BJP, notably the arrest of former minister G Janardhana Reddy.
All three leaders will leave for Nagpur on Tuesday morning. According to sources, Gadkari had summoned them following the cropping up of differences within the state BJP on who should lead the party in the Koppal bypoll to be held on September 26.
While a faction loyal to Yeddyurappa is pressing for his leadership, the Eshwarappa and Jagadish Shettar camp is opposing it.
It may be recalled that the Yeddyurappa camp held a separate meeting while boycotting a meeting convened by Eshwarappa on Saturday to discuss the party’s strategy for the bypoll.
