The Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked teachers of Delhi University’s Kalindi College to either call off their strike or face contempt proceedings. They had gone on strike to seek action against the president of the students’ union, Karishma Vaid. The court, which issued notices to the principal of the college, Delhi University and the University Grants Commission, has fixed the hearing for March 23. The order responded to a Public Interest Litigation alleging that a majority of the teachers had resigned from various committees of the college on September 29, 2010.

Gurgaon: Police, on Wednesday, busted another betting racket and recovered cash and mobile phones from the accused. Balkishan was arrested for betting during the Ireland-South Africa match. Police recovered three mobile phones, a television and Rs 5,000 in cash from him.
