AIEEE will be held on May 11

The rescheduled All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) will be held on May 11 for all those students who were not able to give the exam on May 1. On that day the question paper was leaked due to which the AIEEE was delayed by three hours.

There were many students who were unable to give the exam on May 1 due to this delay in the paper. The exam conducting body, Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE), then decided to hold another exam on May 11 for those who missed out.

Nagpur region's exam coordinator Beena Gokhale (principal, Bhavans School) refused to share information on the number of centres in the city and how many students are appearing. "There has been a total information clamp down by the CBSE. We have been told not to divulge any exam-related details to the media. All I can say is that there are minimal number of centres this time," said Gokhale.

Bhagyashree Mandwe, a student who hails from a village near Nagpur, had not been able to give her exam at KDK college on May 1 since she arrived late for the rescheduled exam. The next day was her birthday and she said, "It was the worst feeling I have had in my entire life. I thought my entire year has been wasted." But as fate would have it, Mandwe will get a chance to take a shot at cracking the AIEEE on Wednesday.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kamptee, is the only school in the region which will have a re-exam for all its registered students. "On May 1, we could not hold the exams as we were also a centre for Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC). So about 700 students will be appearing at my centre," said SS Upadhyay, principal, KV Kamptee.

Wednesday's exam will be entirely pen/paper based even for those who had applied for the online option. There are only 39 cities across the country, including Nagpur, where the exams are being held.
