As the crisis in Air India due to the pilots' strike entered its fifth day, domestic operations from Nagpur came to a virtual halt. The strike has affected passengers booked on flights to and from New Delhi and Mumbai on Sunday too.
A local Air India official said almost 95% of the domestic operations have been hit. Only two Mumbai flights of the 15 scheduled in the last five days have been operated. In the last three days, not a single flight has operated from the city, he added.
On Sunday, all three AI flights from the city were cancelled; flight to Mumbai (IC-130) and to Delhi (IC-869) in the morning and Mumbai (IC-630) in the evening schedule. Similar situation is expected to continue on Monday, with the morning Delhi and Mumbai flights and the evening Mumbai flights cancelled.
However, the schedule for Tuesday is not yet fixed, senior officials said. AI will not levy any cancellation or refund fee on passengers affected by the ongoing strike by a section of its pilots. "In the event of flight cancellations or delay of over an hour, full refund will be given to passengers," the official said.
