Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will arrive in the city on Friday night for a two-day visit. This will be the first visit of the maverick chief minister after getting elected for a second term to run the eastern state, whose fortunes have changed remarkably within a short span under his stewardship.
Kumar will be accompanied by Rajya Sabha member from Bihar Vashist Narayan Singh and MLA Devesh Kukar and former minister Krishnand Jha. After reaching here by Indigo flight from Delhi on Friday night, he will rest here for the night. On Saturday at 10am he will attend a felicitation function organised by Chhatra Jagruti at Sai Sabhagruha near Shankar Nagar square. The highlight will be a live public interview of the chief minister to be conducted by senior journalist Prakash Dube.
Around 12.30pm, Kumar will leave for Sevagram, where he will pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi. After attending a function there, he will proceed to Paonar to visit Vinoba Bhave's ashram. The chief minister will return to the city in the evening. He will attend a Meet the Press programme at the Patrakar Bhavan and proceed to BJP national president Nitin Gadkari's residence. Kumar will leave for Delhi by the GoAir flight at 10.10pm.
Meanwhile, Union urban development minister Kamal Nath will be in the city for the convocation ceremony of IMT on Friday. Telecom major Bharti Airtel's chief Sunil Mittal will deliver the convocation address. The minister will fly to his Chhindwara constituency after the function at around 2pm.
